HOW TO PREPARE THE AUDIO FILES FOR THE MIXING ON ABLETON LIVE |
Select track 1 (make sure that all the audio regions are selected), and put the track 1 in "solo" mode (picture 1) |
Make a "loop" starting from bar 1 until the end of song. (picture 2) |
Bypass any effects (eq filter, reverb, delay, compressor, etc.) on the audio track. If you wish a particular effect on the audio track, please make a note. |
You can leave plugin effects on the track only if you are sure that you like the "sound". In this case we can not change the sound in the mix. |
Midi or Vst instruments/Vitual Synth: if you use a sound preset with effects and you like it, do not bypass the effects and "mixdown" the midi/virtual synth track with the effects on. |
Bypass any automation on the track and bypass any plugin effects on the Master Output. |
Make also sure that the track volume is not too high or too low (picture 3) |
Go to the "Bounce" function to mixdown the track (picture 4), name the track (example: bass, acoustic guitar, el.guitar, etc.) and use the setting as in picture 5. Make sure that all audio files are recorded at the same sample rate (44.1khz or 48khz) and resolution (16 or 24 Bit). |
Please note: the "Render to Disk " fuction in other audio software can be also called "Merge", "Render", "Mixdown", "Bounce", etc. |
Check out that the "Bounce" of the audio track came out ok. |
Repeat this process for each audio and midi/VST instruments track. |
After you have completed the "Bounce" of all the tracks, put all of them in a folder. |
Send the folder with the audio tracks by one of the file storage websites, such as megaupload.com, filefactory.com, depositfiles.com, mediafire.com, etc. |
Preferably you should compress the folder as a ZIP or RAR archive before uploading. Mac user can compress the folder by selecting it and choose from the desktop 'File" menu the function "Create Archive". Windows users can use ZIP or WinRAR. |
Click here to see a tutorial on how to send files with www.filefactory.com |
If you do not have a fast internet connection you can send us a CD/DVD with the audio files by mail. |
In this way we can easily re-build your song on our audio system, as well as keeping your song structure. |
Audio files should be at 16 or 24 Bit and at 44.1, 48, 96 or 192khz. Make sure that all files are recorded at the same sample rate. |
